Bulgaria Hunting
Carlton Grange have developed a trusted partnership with an established ranch just 1 hours drive from Sofia, the countries capital. This not only makes it easy for our guests to access but also provides, in our opinion, some of the best hunting in Bulgaria.
This frontier land is largely untapped by British hunters. Spread over a massive 4700 hectares of rolling hillsides, woodland, grasslands and private lakes the ranch stands directly on the bank of one of the largest lakes in Bulgaria and is situated in the foothills of Bulgaria’s Western mountain ranges. The snow capped peaks provide an impressive backdrop for any hunting excursion, and if you have not visited Bulgaria before, you will find it to be as wild and untouched as any picture postcard. Our Hunting area offers over 500 game trophies per season and operates a fully sustainable, managed environment where the health and welfare of the animals is paramount.

Species
The hunting area is vast, and home to a variety of species including: wild boar, red deer, fallow, roe, mouflon, wolf and jackal. The rut is in the second half of September. We recommend 5-6 hunting days for your top level trophy or wolf hunts, although lesser trophies can be taken much more readily and sometimes in just a morning or evenings stalk. Hunting in Bulgaria ranks very highly in the European and world hunting scene, not only for the number and quality of the trophies which can be taken; but also for the friendly hospitality and favourable exchange rates.
Bulgaria’s hunting history tells it own tale; Bulgarian hunting is rich in wildlife due to its varied landscape of snow capped mountains and lush lowlands. Bulgaria offers an extraordinary diversity of big game hunting species. One of the best red deer populations in the world is in Bulgaria, at over 22,500 and it ranks second in trophy quality. Amongst its hunting trophies, Bulgaria has four world records for red deer (including the present one with 273.60 CIC points, 16.2 kg) a wild boar with 158.20 CIC points, while most of the capital red deer trophies evaluated at over 250 CIC points are Bulgarian.
